Job summary

At Catawiki, the Product Manager for Search and Ranking owns a meaningful part of the customer experience across discovery, ranking and personalisation. You will shape search, ranking and recommendations and work with ML, data science, engineering, design and marketing to deliver measurable impact on buyers.

This role is based in Amsterdam with a relocation package for candidates outside the Netherlands. You will turn hypotheses into prototypes, run experiments and communicate strategy to senior

Qualifications

• Five+ years of product management experience, preferably in consumer ecommerce or digital marketplaces.
• Experience owning a broad product area or customer journey.
• Experience defining product strategy/roadmaps for ML or ML-enabled products.
• Comfort with product metrics, experiments and commercial performance.
• Experience designing, running and analysing A/B tests, including ML experiments.
• Ability to turn uncertain opportunities into clear hypotheses, prototypes and plans.
• Practical understanding of machine learning concepts and how models become useful product experiences.
• Experience collaborating with ML engineers and data scientists to develop customer features.
• Comfort using AI tools to prototype quickly and explore customer experiences.
• Ability to balance short-term commercial opportunities with longer term investments.
• Clear communication and influence with senior leaders without formal authority.
• Resilience and judgement in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate a clear product vision, strategy and roadmap for Search and Ranking.
• Own measurable outcomes across search relevance, discovery, engagement and buyer conversion.
• Prioritize opportunities using behavioural data, customer research and commercial insight.
• Turn ambiguous problems into hypotheses, prototypes and executable plans.
• Lead initiatives from discovery through experimentation, launch and scaling.
• Define success metrics and an experimentation agenda for search, ranking and personalisation.
• Collaborate with ML engineers and data scientists to improve model quality and customer outcomes.
• Improve relevance of search results and recommendations across the buyer journey.
• Integrate personalisation into the customer experience in a useful and trustworthy way.
• Design, run and evaluate experiments, using results to inform decisions.
• Use AI tools to prototype quickly and explore customer experiences.
• Create clarity and accountability across teams with shifting priorities.
