Job summary

Just Eat Takeaway.com is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to help shape the Intelligence Platform Core, building scalable Kubernetes-native infrastructure for Data & ML platforms across AWS, GCP and Azure.

You’ll be the second full-time engineer in the team, shaping platform vision and culture while collaborating with Data and ML Platform teams to provide best practices and advisory support. Amsterdam/Bristol/London flexibility with 3 days in office and 2 days remote.

Qualifications

• Experience building cloud-native platforms on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Proficient in Go for backend services or Kubernetes controllers.
• Experience with GitOps and automated delivery pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and scalable architectures.
• Track record developing self-service platforms for developers.
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on the design and implementation of platform capabilities using Kubernetes-native patterns and event-driven architectures.
• Drive the adoption of platform engineering principles, building reusable abstractions and self-service workflows for internal users.
• Design and implement Kubernetes controllers/operators in Go to automate infrastructure and application lifecycle management.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to growing platform engineering practices across our pillar in the Data and ML Platform teams.
• Collaborate across teams to align on platform interfaces, abstractions, and shared infrastructure patterns.
• Support the hiring of new engineers as we expand the team, setting the bar on quality of code and collaboration.
