GSES – Global Sustainable Enterprise System is seeking a Senior PHP Laravel Developer to design, build, and maintain our core platform. You will own backend components, collaborate with product, data, and operations teams to ensure performance, security, and scalability, and mentor junior developers when needed.

Based in The Netherlands, the role is on-site in Rotterdam with hybrid options and a strong focus on ESG data platforms and EU-funded initiatives to promote transparency and sustainable

Qualifications

• Based in The Netherlands.
• 7+ years of experience in PHP/Laravel.
• Senior-level PHP/Laravel expertise with strong MySQL.
• Experience with Git-based workflows.
• Understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend systems using PHP (Laravel).
• Design scalable, secure architectures for the platform.
• Optimize performance and database structures.
• Integrate APIs, external data sources, and third-party services.
• Participate in technical decisions and code reviews.
• Collaborate with product, data, and sustainability experts.
