Job summary

LaraBench is seeking a Back-End Developer (PHP / Laravel) in Utrecht to build and scale an AI-first healthtech platform. You will own backend services, design robust APIs, and collaborate closely with frontend and product teams to deliver high-quality software.

Expect a senior role with influence on architecture, deployment practices and product direction. Remote-friendly with office days in central Netherlands. Fluent English required; Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

• Senior-level back-end experience (5+ years) with PHP/Laravel.
• Design and maintain RESTful APIs with MySQL.
• AI-first mindset; familiar with AI tools in development.
• Fluent in English; Dutch a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve core platform, focusing on Laravel back-end services and APIs.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to deliver end-to-end features.
• Work AI-first: use tools like Claude Code, Cursor or Copilot daily.
• Shape architecture, scalability and performance from database design to deployment.
• Review code and raise the technical bar for the team.
