Job summary

Renno is building the payment rails for renovation in Amsterdam and London. You will own the backend systems behind payments across two currencies and two countries, ensuring ledger integrity, reconciliation, and robust production behavior.

You will work in TypeScript and PostgreSQL, extending existing work and driving production readiness. You will join a team shipping critical financial flows, with a clear path to technical leadership through decision quality, standards and developer

Qualifications

• You have built or operated a ledger or payments core in production, including reconciliation against an external provider.
• You have integrated payment or banking APIs and webhooks, and understand idempotency, concurrency, event ordering and failure handling.
• You bring deep PostgreSQL expertise: transactional data modelling, access control, safe migrations and tests against the database.
• You have shipped and maintained TypeScript in production.

Responsibilities

• Own the ledger: clear financial invariants, safe concurrent updates and auditable movement records.
• Own the service API and event contract with product, keeping it small, versioned, and with idempotent commands and explicit event-ordering guarantees.
• Own reconciliation: discrepancies detected, investigated and resolved with clear explanations.
• Own payment integrations and event handling, including retries, duplicates or delayed events and partial failures.
• Own production quality through tests, monitoring, runbooks, incident response and on-call participation.
• Review changes to payment logic and document decisions that matter as the product evolves.
