Job summary

Kyndryl is seeking an experienced OpenShift Platform Administrator to proactively manage and modernize our OpenShift and Linux infrastructure. You will ensure high availability, performance, and security while collaborating with development, application, and IT infrastructure teams.

The role emphasizes automation, standardized processes, and continuous improvement. You will contribute to the lifecycle of the platform, including patching, upgrades, and security hardening, in a hybrid, globally

Qualifications

• HBO level in ICT or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in Linux/platform/infrastructure administration.
• Strong knowledge of datacenter/infrastructure including storage, networking, virtualization.
• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of OpenShift/Kubernetes concepts (Pods, deployments, services, Routes, ConfigMaps, Secrets, RBAC, PVs).
• Experience with container tech (Podman, Docker, OCI-compliant).
• OpenShift lifecycle management (patching, upgrades, versioning, troubleshooting).
• Monitoring of OpenShift/Linux availability, performance and capacity.

Responsibilities

• Proactively build, monitor, and update a stable OpenShift platform and underlying infrastructure.
• Manage OpenShift environments for availability and performance.
• Support projects such as container onboarding and platform development; enhance security.
• Standardize and scale environments; professionalize platform management.
• Assist users and app teams with incidents and security vulnerabilities on OpenShift.
• Handle incidents and changes in a controlled, structured manner.
• Analyze issues, perform root-cause analyses, and propose structural improvements.
• Contribute to lifecycle management including patching and upgrades.
