Job summary

Siemens Healthineers in Longview, TX, seeks a Medical Physicist to oversee high-quality radiation therapy delivery and safety, and to train staff in safety policies and procedures.

The role requires a CAMPEP‑accredited residency, 3+ years of clinical experience, ABR certification or eligibility, and licensure as needed. You will contribute to QA, treatment planning, dosimetry, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Located or willing to relocate to Longview, TX or surrounding area.
• MS or PhD in Medical Physics, CAMPEP-accredited residency required.
• ABR certification or eligibility; license as required.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate dose meters and beam data for QA and therapy planning.
• Prepare data for treatment planning systems and dosimetry software development.
• Ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities and standards.
• Assist in acceptance testing and commissioning of new machines.
• Perform treatment planning, dosimetry calculations, and reviews.
• Provide physics consultation to staff and physicians.
• Collaborate with IT for department planning system management.
• Assist with planning and shielding calculations for new facilities.
• Interpret regulatory changes for department operations.
• Provide dosimetry checks after source changes.
• Assist with selection of sources for implants.
• Participate in clinical education and competency evaluations.
