Job summary

NTT Global Data Centers is seeking a Senior Mechanical Solutions Engineer to translate customer requirements into scalable data center mechanical solutions, with emphasis on high-density and liquid-cooled deployments. You will contribute to design and pre‑sales efforts, collaborating across global teams to deliver optimized, cost-aware solutions.

You will work remotely with occasional travel, primarily across EMEA, and be based in the UK, Germany, or the Netherlands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering required; master’s degree is a plus.
• Expert-level data center mechanical infrastructure and thermodynamics knowledge.
• Experience with liquid cooling for high-density compute.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations for flow, pressure, heat transfer.
• Strong written and verbal communication with Sales and leadership.
• Experience in hyperscale data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Professional Engineer / Chartered Engineer desirable.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the EMEA Mechanical SME and support Solutions Engineers with technical interpretation and risk identification.
• Lead mechanical solutioning for hyperscale, AI/HPC, and enterprise opportunities with emphasis on liquid cooling and high-density deployments.
• Translate customer requirements into mechanical concepts aligned with NTT GDC standards and site constraints.
• Develop mechanical designs to ~30% schematic, including P&IDs, layouts, piping concepts, and design criteria.
• Prepare detailed schematic packages for Construction/Preconstruction to price and schedule work.
• Perform engineering calculations and verify system performance and reliability.
• Define interfaces between liquid-cooling and base-building infrastructure; address water quality and controls.
• Participate in customer workshops, site visits, and executive/technical presentations.
• Identify risks and communicate impacts on capacity, cost, and schedule.
• Support global projects and occasional cross-time-zone meetings across EMEA, APAC, Americas.
• Engage with prospects and partners to present solutions and assist in quotes.
