Job summary

Alquion seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Stack Development Team in Eindhoven. You will design the stack from concept through prototype to production release, focusing on manufacturability and cost.

You will work with suppliers and cross‑functional teams to ensure designs age well, maintainability, and compliance with PED 2014/68/EU. The role offers autonomy, mentorship, and opportunities to impact Europe’s energy transition.

Qualifications

• Senior‑level experience designing mechanical parts for medium to high‑volume production.
• Experience with material selection, corrosion and manufacturability.
• Experience developing suppliers technically, not just buying from them.
• SolidWorks and proper drawing/revision control.

Responsibilities

• Design the stack from concept to production release.
• Create the surrounding structural module and support balance‑of‑stack design.
• Ensure manufacturability and cost targets for serial volumes with PED compliance.
• Manage supplier relationships: selection, development, qualification, problem solving.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote safety‑conscious, standards‑compliant culture.
