Job summary

Morgan Black is seeking a Senior/Lead Data Engineer to drive the transition to dbt within a Databricks environment. You will lead hands-on development while providing technical direction to a small Data Engineering team.

You will mentor two engineers, shape data pipelines, and ensure scalable, well-documented data solutions as the platform matures toward standardization.

Qualifications

• Senior or Lead-level experience within Data Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks.
• Extensive knowledge and practical experience with dbt (Data Build Tool).
• Proven experience executing a transition to dbt.
• Ability to demonstrate your dbt transition experience through a specific project.
• Experience developing and optimizing modern data pipelines and transformations.
• Strong understanding of data engineering best practices.
• Ability to provide technical guidance to other Data Engineers.
• Strong communication skills and experience with knowledge sharing and mentoring.

Job description

As a Senior / Lead Data Engineer, you will work within a data-driven environment focused on the further development and professionalization of the data platform. The main focus of this assignment is the transition to dbt (Data Build Tool) within a Databricks environment. You will work alongside two other Data Engineers, combining hands‑on development with a technical leadership role within the team.

Profile

As a Senior / Lead Data Engineer, you combine strong hands‑on technical expertise with the ability to guide and support other engineers. You have previously executed a transition to dbt and can demonstrate this experience through a specific project. You are independent, communicative and comfortable taking technical ownership while remaining actively involved in development.
