Job summary

Amaris Consulting is seeking a Senior Data Engineer with hands-on Java/SQL/ETL expertise to support migrating existing ETL processes to a new environment. You will own implementations, analyze architectures, and work independently on critical data integration tasks.

The role emphasizes strong ownership, ability to read and modify legacy code, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth data movement across platforms.

Qualifications

• Advanced Java development experience is mandatory.
• Advanced SQL skills are required.
• Solid ETL and data integration knowledge.
• Experience with data engineering and data migration projects.
• Experience with REST/API-based integrations.
• Knowledge of AWS S3 or similar cloud storage.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
• Ability to read, understand, and modify existing codebases independently.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing ETL processes and platform architecture.
• Migrate and adapt ETL pipelines to the target cloud environment.
• Understand, maintain, and modify existing Java-based ETL code.
• Collaborate with both the source platform team and receiving business unit team.
• Contribute to architecture and integration decisions.
• Ensure successful data movement and integration between platforms.
