Job summary

Amaris Consulting is seeking a Senior Data Engineer with 5+ years hands-on experience to support migration of ETL processes to a cloud-ready environment in the Netherlands. You will analyze architectures, review documentation and code, and own the implementation end-to-end.

You will work independently and with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable data movement, integration, and scalable solutions. Proficiency in Java, SQL, ETL, REST APIs, and AWS S3 is required; Spark and Azure Data Lake

Qualifications

Advanced Java development experience (mandatory)
Advanced SQL skills (critical)
Strong understanding of ETL processes and data integration
Experience with data engineering and data migration projects
Experience with REST/API-based integrations
Knowledge of AWS S3 or similar cloud storage services
Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
Ability to read, understand, and modify existing codebases independently

Responsibilities

Analyze existing ETL processes and platform architecture.
Migrate and adapt ETL pipelines to the target cloud environment.
Understand, maintain, and modify existing Java-based ETL code.
Collaborate with both the source platform team and receiving business unit team.
Contribute to architecture and integration decisions.
Ensure successful data movement and integration between platforms.
