SPERTON - Where Great People Meet is seeking a Senior Java Backend Engineer to join a high‑performing engineering team building scalable, cloud‑native backend solutions. This IC role focuses on backend development, solution design and system architecture.

You will design, develop and maintain enterprise‑grade backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices on AWS, collaborating with product managers, QA, DevOps and frontend engineers to deliver secure, reliable software.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on Java backend development.
• Expertise in Spring Boot and microservices.
• Experience with AWS cloud services.
• Familiar with Groovy scripting.
• Git for source control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservice-based backends.
• Contribute to architecture reviews and solution design.
• Develop and support applications in AWS cloud environments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with product owners, QA, Frontend, and DevOps teams.
• Ensure code quality, security, and documentation.
