Job description

A broad, hands-on HR role covering the complete employee lifecycle

For our European headquarters in Eindhoven, we are looking for an experienced Senior HR Generalist Europe.

In this role, you will be responsible for the complete employee lifecycle: from recruitment, contracts and onboarding to performance management, employee relations, payroll coordination and offboarding. It is a hands-on position in which HR advice and administration go together.

You will support approximately 60 colleagues from 20 nationalities, working across the Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain, Poland and Sweden.

Because of the size of our organisation, you will know the people you support and can see the direct impact of your work.

Your role

You will be an important point of contact for employees and managers across Europe. On one day, you may advise a manager on a performance matter, prepare an employment contract, coordinate payroll changes and welcome a new colleague. On another, you may improve an HR process, update a policy or support a recruitment procedure.

You will be part of our People Team, consisting of the Head of HR, an Office Administrator and you as Senior HR Generalist. You will also work closely with our local payroll providers and external advisers, who support us with country-specific employment legislation.

Your main responsibilities

HR administration and employee lifecycle

  • Manage the HR administration throughout the complete employee lifecycle.

  • Prepare employment contracts, amendments and other HR documentation.

  • Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files and HR systems.

  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding, including all related documentation and actions.

  • Process employee changes and provide accurate monthly input to our local payroll providers.

  • Manage absence, leave and benefit administration.

  • Monitor probation periods, contract end dates and other important HR deadlines.

  • Ensure HR documentation and employee data are handled accurately and confidentially.

Advice and employee relations

  • Advise and support employees and managers on a broad range of HR matters.

  • Guide managers through performance, development, well-being, absence and employee-relations cases.

  • Support performance-management and talent-development processes.

  • Handle sensitive employee situations carefully, professionally and consistently.

  • Help managers apply HR policies in a practical and fair way.

Recruitment and onboarding

  • Coordinate recruitment processes from vacancy intake to offer.

  • Work with managers to define role requirements and select suitable candidates.

  • Conduct interviews and support managers during the selection process.

  • Prepare offers and employment documentation.

  • Ensure new employees receive a professional and welcoming start.

Policies, compliance and improvement

  • Develop, review and maintain HR policies, procedures and employee handbooks.

  • Coordinate with local advisers to ensure compliance with employment legislation across our European locations.

  • Support compliance with privacy and data-protection requirements.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify and improve HR processes and systems.

  • Contribute to initiatives relating to employee engagement, learning and development, well-being and inclusion.

Compensation and benefits

  • Coordinate payroll, bonus and benefit processes with local providers.

  • Check payroll information and follow up on questions or corrections.

  • Support salary benchmarking and compensation reviews.

  • Administer and clearly communicate employee benefits.

What you bring

  • At least seven years of broad HR experience, preferably within an international organisation.

  • Experience managing the different stages of the employee lifecycle independently.

  • Good working knowledge of Dutch employment law and HR practices.

  • Experience supporting employees in other European countries is a strong advantage.

  • Experience advising managers on performance, absence and employee-relations matters.

  • Experience with recruitment, payroll coordination and HR administration.

  • A hands-on approach: you enjoy combining HR advice with accurate administrative work.

  • The confidence to take ownership while knowing when to involve the Head of HR or an external specialist.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage different priorities and deadlines.

  • A careful and discreet approach when handling personal and confidential information.

  • Professional fluency in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing.

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent level of working and thinking.

  • Permission to work in the Netherlands.

What we offer

  • A broad HR role with responsibility for the complete employee lifecycle.

  • The opportunity to make a visible contribution within a close international organisation.

  • Cooperation with colleagues from 20 nationalities across eight European countries.

  • Room to improve processes, contribute ideas and further develop the HR function.

  • A full-time or part-time position of 32-40 hours per week.

  • 30 vacation days based on full-time employment.

  • A pension fully paid by the employer.

  • An annual training budget.

  • An annual well-being budget for physical and mental fitness.

  • An iPhone and laptop.

  • Our annual AAEON kick-off with the European team.
