Job description

About The Team

Hi, I'm Steph Cook, Head of HR at Beyond Sports, and we're looking for a Senior HR Business Partner to join us as our HR Lead for our Netherlands, Australian, and UK hubs.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, international organization that sits at the cutting edge of sports technology. Reporting directly to the Head of HR, you will be joining a collaborative and scaling team. Unlike traditional HR roles confined to a single office, you'll have a truly global footprint—overseeing the people strategy for three of our major international hubs while working alongside a dedicated HR Administrator/Advisor and managing the growth of our internal HR team.

About The Role

We're looking for someone who enjoys bringing people together, solving complex people puzzles, and balancing high-level strategic advisory with hands‑on delivery.

As a Senior HR Business Partner, you will be a "player-coach" responsible for the full employee lifecycle. You will partner closely with business leaders to drive organizational performance, workforce effectiveness, and talent management. This role isn't about sitting behind a desk; it's about translating global people strategy into measurable, real‑world business actions that noticeably improve engagement, retention, workforce capability, and culture across our hubs.

Priorities can evolve quickly in a growing international business, so we're looking for an agile HR professional who is comfortable providing expert legal and commercial advice while simultaneously keeping our day‑to‑day HR infrastructure robust and scalable.

What You'll Work On
  • Acting as the regional HR Lead for our Netherlands, UK, and Australian hubs.
  • Translating global people strategy into localized, measurable business actions that elevate our culture.
  • Driving major People Projects within the NL and UK offices, aligning with our broader Group‑wide vision while enhancing local operational efficiency.
  • Managing cyclical HR initiatives like annual salary reviews and employee engagement surveys to encourage data‑led decision‑making.
  • Owning our Workday ecosystem, overseeing regional payroll integration, data integrity, and leveraging analytics to provide leadership insights.
  • Standardizing and managing our freelancer processes to maintain operational flexibility while mitigating compliance risks.
  • Coordinating regional HR audits and keeping employment policies and contracts aligned with evolving regulations.
  • Line managing and developing the HR team, actively building capability within the function.
What Success Looks Like

Your first few months will focus on building deep, trusted relationships with our senior and middle management to truly understand their business priorities. You'll familiarize yourself with our international hub structures and get a firm handle on our current Workday processes and policy frameworks.

As your confidence and institutional knowledge grow, you'll seamlessly step into your advisory power. You will become the trusted coach that managers rely on to help them become self‑sufficient in leading performance, engagement, and team development.

Success in this role means finding the perfect harmony between high-level advisory coaching and executing hands‑on delivery, ultimately scaling our HR infrastructure alongside our global business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build trusted relationships with senior and middle management to support workforce effectiveness and talent management.
  • Review, develop, and implement culturally relevant HR policies that remain fully aligned with evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations matters, balancing legal risks with organizational performance.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate people‑related risks that could impact our culture, cost, or performance.
  • Coach and enable managers to become self‑sufficient in handling performance, engagement, and career development.
  • Line manage and develop direct reports within the HR team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Continuously optimize HR processes and ways of working to seamlessly support a growing, international workforce.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience

We're looking for someone with:

  • Proven HR experience supporting a growing, international organization—specifically within the UK and Netherlands.
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch and UK labor law, with a track record of successfully managing complex employee relations matters.
  • Experience with Workday or a similar core HRIS, including an understanding of data integrity, reporting, and payroll hand‑offs.
  • A proven "player‑coach" mindset, equally comfortable providing high‑level strategic advice and rolling up their sleeves for hands‑on execution.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring HR professionals and building internal team capability.
  • Excellent relationship‑building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior and middle management.
  • Experience managing alternative workforce models, including standardizing and auditing freelancer/contractor compliance.
