Allseas in Delft is seeking a Senior Graphite Engineer to lead the graphite engineering for our HTGR core, defining specifications and qualification plans for graphite materials and components. You will co-design reactor internals, interpret simulations, lead qualification programs, ensure compliance with nuclear codes, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across offshore and onshore projects.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in relevant field.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Expertise in graphite behaviour under irradiation and high temperature.
• Experience with material qualification programs.
• Excellent communication skills and strong analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Co-design the reactor internals.
• Interpret simulations and use this to optimize the design.
• Define and develop graphite specifications.
• Assess graphite behaviour under irradiation, oxidation, thermal cycling, and mechanical loading.
• Lead material selection and qualification processes.
• Develop and review test programs.
• Ensure alignment with nuclear codes and standards.
• Support safety analyses.
• Interface with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
