Job description

For one of our leading enterprise clients, we are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in OpenTelemetry, cloud-native platforms, and automation.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evolving the organization's centralized OpenTelemetry platform, enabling engineering teams to achieve standardized observability across hundreds of applications.

This is not a traditional infrastructure-focused DevOps role. Besides managing and scaling the OpenTelemetry platform, you'll also develop custom tooling, automation, and OpenTelemetry components using Go and Python to improve developer experience and observability capabilities.

Working closely with multiple engineering squads, you will help establish scalable, secure, and reliable observability foundations across a modern cloud-native enterprise environment.

Why Join Us?
  • Impactful Work: Shape the future of our clients’ digital landscapes.
  • Innovative Environment: Collaborate within a supportive team that values learning and growth.
  • State‑of‑the‑art technology: Access the latest tools and platforms.
  • Global Opportunities: Dreaming of living and working in the Netherlands or Belgium? We provide full support with visa processes, making your transition smooth and hassle‑free!
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain the organization's OpenTelemetry platform, including Collectors, SDKs, and OTLP.
  • Develop custom tooling, automation, and OpenTelemetry processors using Go, Python, and Bash.
  • Deploy, manage, and scale Kubernetes clusters (AKS, EKS, or self-managed) using Helm.
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible.
  • Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.
  • Build and maintain monitoring and logging solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, and related technologies.
  • Collaborate with development teams to implement observability standards and optimize application performance.
  • Manage artifact repositories such as Nexus or JFrog Artifactory.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across cloud platforms, Kubernetes, and the DevOps toolchain.
  • Drive automation, standardization, and platform improvements across the engineering organization.
  • Apply security best practices throughout cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized environments.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience
  • Advanced proficiency in the English Language (at least B2 in speaking, writing, listening, and reading)
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with OpenTelemetry, including Collectors, SDKs, and OTLP.
  • Experience developing automation and platform tooling using Go and Python.
  • Strong expertise with Kubernetes, Helm, and containerized environments.
  • Experience with Terraform and Ansible for Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.
  • Hands‑on experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace, or ELK.
  • Experience working with Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Git‑based development workflows.
  • Strong understanding of networking, cloud security, and distributed systems.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience developing custom OpenTelemetry processors, exporters, or instrumentation libraries.
  • Experience with gRPC and distributed tracing.
  • Experience managing Nexus or JFrog Artifactory.
  • Cloud certifications such as CKA, AWS DevOps Engineer, or AZ‑204/AZ‑400.
  • Experience contributing to open‑source projects.
  • Experience building internal developer platforms or engineering tooling.
  • Knowledge of performance optimization and distributed tracing internals.
