Job summary

Robeco is seeking a Senior External Communications Specialist to lead media relations, executive engagement and narrative development across investing, sustainability and long-term value topics. You will work closely with the CEO, CIO and ExCo to shape strategic messaging and manage major communications initiatives.

You will manage a global network of journalists, craft speeches and Q&As, and guide internal and external communications to ensure coherent external positioning.

Qualifications

• 8 to 12 years in external communications or media relations, preferably within asset management or financial services.
• An established, highly active network of financial journalists, editors and opinion leaders across investment, sustainability and markets-focused media.
• Asset-management and sustainability fluency, with credibility to advise senior leaders and engage on technical conversations.
• Ability to influence and align senior stakeholders without direct authority; not a line-management role.

Responsibilities

• Media relations and journalist network – Set and own a proactive global external and PR strategy with an established network of international financial journalists.
• Executive engagement, spokesperson and speechwriting – Advise the ExCo and senior leaders on media engagement, act as a corporate spokesperson when required, and develop narratives and key messages.
• Strategic theme identification and thought leadership – Identify emerging topics and regulatory developments; develop strategic messaging with internal experts.
• Asset-management and sustainability fluency – Be credible regarding Robeco's active strategies and related trends including AI.
• Reputation: protect and enhance – Manage issues and crises with Legal and Compliance; maintain holding statements and playbooks.
• Integrated, multi-stakeholder working – Align internal and external communications and brief internal experts to translate strategies into narratives.
