Job summary

Gazelle Global in Amsterdam, Netherlands, seeks a Senior Full Stack Payments Engineer to shape the payment infrastructure behind a widely-used app with millions of users. You will own end-to-end design from architecture to deployment, emphasizing cloud-native resilience and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced payments environment.

The role spans frontend and backend work, with AWS, TypeScript/Node.js/React, Java/Spring Boot, and AI-assisted tooling at the core of daily development.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in large-scale digital products or platforms.
• Payments domain experience: processing, transaction flows, PSD2, acquiring, gateways and/or wallets.
• Strong AWS hands-on: CloudFormation, ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, React, Java/Spring Boot, AWS CDK.
• Experience with Agentic Engineering or AI-native development practices.
• Day-to-day use of GitHub Copilot or comparable AI coding tools in a professional team.
• GitHub Actions experience.

As a preferred supplier to one of our biggest Financial Client, I am seeking for a Senior Full Stack Payments Engineer for a position in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The successful candidate will help build and evolve the payment infrastructure behind one of the Netherlands' most-used apps with 11M+ users, real transactions, zero margin for error.

As a senior engineer, you design end-to-end: from architecture and solution design to deployment and continuous optimization. You influence technical direction, raise the bar on engineering quality, and help fellow engineers grow. The work spans frontend and backend, with a strong focus on cloud-native resilience and scalability in a regulated payments environment.

We build on AWS. We ship on GitHub. We use AI-assisted development not as an experiment but as standard practice.
