Job summary

Jobtailor in Amsterdam is seeking a senior software engineer to build and improve modern web applications and backend services. You will work across frontend, backend and infra, collaborating with client teams and designers on delivery.

You will clarify requirements, drive delivery, and contribute to cloud environments, CI/CD, testing and production operations, while maintaining a hands-on, consultative approach and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in modern frontend development with TypeScript and React.
• Strong backend service development using Node.js, Java, Kotlin or Python.
• Experience shipping production-grade digital products and full delivery lifecycle.
• Ability to work with cloud environments, CI/CD, deployments and operations.
• Senior, consultative role with clients and stakeholders; strong English communication.

Responsibilities

• Building and improving modern web applications, backend services, APIs and data models.
• Working across frontend, backend and infrastructure depending on client needs.
• Helping clients choose suitable technologies, architecture and delivery approaches.
• Contributing to cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, deployments and production operations.
• Debugging, testing, monitoring and improving production-grade systems.
• Collaborating with client tech teams, stakeholders, designers and other disciplines.
• Clarifying ambiguous requirements and turning them into working software.
• Taking responsibility for delivery while supporting the team.
• Using modern development practices, including AI-assisted tools and workflows.
