Job summary

Nationale Nederlanden (NN) in The Hague is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to drive digital change and transform NN into a product-oriented tech company. The six-month engagement starts October 1 and offers a hybrid work setup, with potential extension.

You will work with React Native, React, TypeScript, AWS and GraphQL to build new projects from scratch and modernize existing apps, owning customer-facing services and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building production-grade apps with React Native, React and TypeScript.
• Experience designing and maintaining shared libraries or SDKs, with API design, versioning, and backward compatibility.
• Strong knowledge of mobile authentication and security, biometrics, PIN/OTP, secure storage, and identity verification.
• Experience across JavaScript and native mobile platforms (iOS/Android) with React Native bridge integrations.
• Strong software engineering practices including testing, CI/CD, and working in Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Work with modern technologies such as React Native, TypeScript, AWS, and GraphQL.
• Build new projects from scratch and modernize existing applications.
• Take ownership of services used directly by customers or embedded throughout the organization.
