Job summary

LogistiX Group's Amsterdam branch is seeking an experienced Senior Freight Forwarder with a strong export focus to own shipments from quotation to delivery.

You will coordinate bookings, documentation and customs, work with customers, carriers and overseas offices, and drive growth of the export operation while maintaining tight control on costs and service levels.

Qualifications

• Several years of freight forwarding experience with a clear export focus.
• Strong knowledge of export documentation and customs requirements.
• Good knowledge of the Amsterdam/Schiphol logistics market.
• Ability to manage shipments independently from start to finish.
• Fluent English; Dutch would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Managing international export shipments from quotation through to final delivery.
• Coordinating bookings, documentation, customs formalities and operational execution.
• Working closely with customers, carriers, agents and overseas offices.
• Producing competitive quotations and negotiating supplier rates.
• Finding creative solutions during capacity constraints and changing market conditions.
• Identifying commercial opportunities within existing accounts.
• Handling escalations and resolving operational issues.
• Improving export processes and supporting less-experienced colleagues.
• Contributing directly to the continued growth of the Amsterdam branch.

Job description

Our client is a fast-growing, medium-sized freight forwarder with a strong global presence. Its Amsterdam branch consists of around 10 people, combining the resources of an international network with the flexibility and personal environment of a local business.

They are looking for an experienced Senior Freight Forwarder with a strong focus on export. The successful candidate will become a trusted senior figure within the branch, taking ownership of shipments while helping develop the export operation.

The company performs particularly well in volatile markets. Its independent structure allows the team to react quickly, find creative solutions and make commercial decisions without unnecessary layers of approval.

The Role

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing international export shipments from quotation through to final delivery
