Job summary

Talantir in the Netherlands is seeking a skilled backend engineer with Kotlin/Java and strong React/Next.js experience. You will build the financial core (ledger, settlements, payouts, pricing) and integrate with payment providers, KYC/AML, and banking networks, delivering robust REST APIs and event-driven processing.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of experience with Java/Kotlin (Spring Boot).
• Experience building REST APIs and backend systems.
• Proficient with React/Next.js and TypeScript.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL queries.
• Understanding of event-driven architecture and webhooks.
• Experience with API design (versioning, idempotency, error handling).
• Experience with CI/CD and Git workflows.
• Full-stack mindset with ability to contribute to system design.
• Testing ownership across code, tests, and deployments.

Responsibilities

• Backend development in Kotlin including ledger, settlement, and payouts.
• Integrations with payment providers and KYC/KYB.
• Develop webhooks and event-driven processing.
• Create REST APIs for product and internal tools.
• Model BPMN workflows for onboarding, AML, disputes.
• Frontend work with Next.js/TypeScript for merchant portal.
• Build internal ops/admin tools.
• Develop developer portal with API docs and sandbox.
• Reconcile across gateway, processor, and banks.
• Produce regulatory and financial reporting.
• Maintain fully automated tests.
