Job summary

Vistra Netherlands is seeking a Senior Financial Services Accountant - Funds to be based in Amsterdam. You will report to the Manager - Fund Services and handle bookkeeping, reporting, and investor communications for our funds.

This role requires 3-5 years in audit/accounting within Venture Capital/Private Equity funds, solid Dutch GAAP/IFRS knowledge, and excellent English skills. We offer competitive remuneration, a pension plan, a bonus program, training, and hybrid working options.

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in accounting and fund management
• Experience with Dutch GAAP and IFRS is required
• Strong written and verbal English communication
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders
• Experience in Venture Capital/Private Equity fund industry is preferred
• Prior experience with a Fund Administrator or Fund Manager is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Bookkeeping and accrual calculations per Dutch GAAP/IFRS
• Prepare and review periodic investor reports
• Prepare financial statements and assist with statutory audits
• Prepare capital account statements and NAVs for investors
• Review fund documents and investor reporting requirements
• Coordinate and respond to ad hoc investor requests
• Communicate with Centre of Excellence to ensure consistency and quality

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Senior Financial Services Accountant - Funds. Reporting to the Manager - Fund Services, this full-time and permanent position is based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Fund Services and its’ growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation/Reviewing of bookkeeping (e.g. accruals, interest calculations, sales entries, movements in investments according to Dutch GAAP but also IFRS)


• Preparing/Reviewing of periodic reports


• Preparation/Reviewing of Financial Statements and assistance with statutory audits


• Preparing/Reviewing Capital Account Statements and Net Asset Values (Investor reporting)


• Reading/understanding Fund documents like Subscription documents, partnership agreements, and shareholder agreements for existing/new funds


• Preparing/Reviewing capital call and distribution notices


• Preparing/Reviewing waterfall and equalization workings


• Coordinating and dealing with Fund investors on meeting investor’s specific reporting requirements


• Reviewing investor requests and any ad hoc requests from client


• Client contact and communication with our Centre of Excellence

Key Requirements

• Effective client-handling skills


• Strong prioritizing ability and organizational skills


• Analytical, meticulous, and systematic in approach to work


• Possess 3-5 years of experience in audit / accounting fields in Venture Capital/Private Equity Fund industry.


• Prior experience with another Fund Administrator or Fund Manager is preferred


• Sound knowledge of Dutch GAAP and/or IFRS


• Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written


• Adequate excel skills


• Possess a bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Economics, Business Administration or equivalent;
