Job summary

Studyportals seeks a seasoned Financial Accountant to coordinate the group’s external reporting and audit activities across multiple jurisdictions. You will own the annual audit, manage relationships with external auditors and advisors, and ensure timely, accurate consolidated financial information.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Finance in a highly international setting, supporting month-end closes, intercompany accounting and statutory filings while upholding robust financial controls.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• 5+ years in financial control, accounting, reporting or audit.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP and/or IFRS.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate group consolidations and monthly management reporting.
• Manage interim/year-end audits and statutory reporting with external auditors.
• Prepare annual financial statements and SBR filings with audit documentation.

We're looking for a highly motivated finance professional to join our Finance team during a maternity leave period. This role takes ownership of some of our most critical finance processes, including group financial reporting, statutory reporting, audit coordination, annual accounts and external compliance.

You will work closely with the Head of Finance and act as the primary coordinator between Studyportals and our external auditors and accounting firms worldwide.

Your Role

As Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for coordinating the group's external reporting and audit activities across multiple jurisdictions. You will own the annual audit process, manage relationships with external auditors and advisors, prepare consolidated financial information and ensure financial reporting obligations are met accurately and on time. This role requires a combination of strong accounting knowledge, project management skills and stakeholder management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare group consolidations and monthly management reporting, including coordinating management commentary.
• Coordinate interim/year-end audits and international statutory reporting, acting as the main point of contact for external auditors and accountants and managing requests, documentation and deliverables.
• Prepare the annual financial statements and SBR filings, including supporting schedules and audit documentation.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, provisions, capitalization, revenue recognition and intercompany accounting.
• Prepare cash flow forecasting, financial modelling and financial analysis, providing insights into financial performance and variances.
• Maintain accurate financial documentation and controls, ensuring key accounting positions, reconciliations and audit evidence are properly supported.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Economics or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in financial control, accounting, financial reporting or audit.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements, including Dutch GAAP and/or IFRS.
• Hands-on experience with month-end closing, reconciliations, group consolidations and annual financial statements.
• Experience coordinating or supporting external audits, with a good understanding of audit requirements and documentation.
• Strong analytical and Excel skills, with the ability to identify variances, trends and financial insights.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently, take ownership and manage multiple deadlines.
