Job summary

Futurewhiz is seeking a Senior Financial Controller in Amsterdam with a strong IFRS background to own the monthly and annual closing processes, journals, and reporting. The role combines ownership of financial accounting with process improvements and automation to elevate reporting quality. Collaboration with tax advisors and auditors is essential.

You should have 5+ years in finance/accounting, a relevant degree, and excellent Excel/ERP skills. English fluency is required; Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance/accounting.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in finance, accounting or audit.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting.
• Ability to lead monthly and year-end closing processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly and annual closing processes.
• Oversee the quality of journal entries, balance-sheet reconciliations and financial statements, with a focus on material and complex areas.
• Ensure accurate and compliant IFRS reporting to our shareholders.
• Lead the year-end audit and coordinate external auditors.
• Coordinate with tax advisors and ensure tax compliance by providing complete, accurate and timely financial information for tax reporting.
• Strengthen internal controls and improve financial processes.
• Use automation and AI to reduce manual work and improve reporting quality.
