Job summary

VML is seeking a Senior Financial Controller in Amsterdam to lead the Dutch monthly close, reporting and internal controls. You’ll partner with the FD and senior management, balancing hands-on control with analytical insight.

The role is well suited to a Big 4-trained finance professional seeking ownership in-house with clear accountability and visibility. English is essential; Dutch proficiency preferred to support local stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration.
• Post-master qualification (CPA/ACCA) is a plus.
• 6–8+ years in financial control, audit or reporting, Big 4 background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Co-own monthly closings for Dutch entities and ensure accuracy.
• Coordinate statutory reporting and liaise with external auditors.
• Prepare management reporting including KPIs and dashboards.
• Provide financial insight and scenario analysis to leadership.
• Strengthen internal controls and SOX compliance.
