Job description

TicketSwap is on a journey to become the world’s favourite platform for fans to buy and sell tickets. We have already reached more than 20 million users across 42 countries, with a clear mission to make ticket resale safe, fair and easy.

As we continue to grow across markets, products and partnerships, our Finance team is becoming increasingly important in helping the business scale in a controlled, efficient and forward-looking way. We are now looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join the team and help us build a finance function that is ready for the next stage of growth.

As Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability and integrity of TicketSwap’s financial information. You will be involved in month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, audit support, process improvement and day-to-day finance operations.

This is not a role where you simply process transactions and follow existing steps. We are looking for someone who can take ownership, spot where processes can be improved, and help us build smarter, more scalable ways of working. That includes better documentation, stronger controls, more automation, and thoughtful use of AI and new systems where they can reduce manual work and improve quality.

You will work closely with the Financial Accounting & Operations team, FP&A, and colleagues across the business. Over time, the exact responsibilities will be shaped around the needs of the team and the strengths of the person joining, but the role will sit firmly within accounting, finance operations and financial control.

What You’ll Do
  • Own key parts of the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, including, accruals, intercompany reconciliations, fixed assets management and balance sheet substantiation

  • Help ensure the balance sheet and P&L are accurate, complete, well understood and supported by clear documentation

  • Contribute to statutory reporting and audit processes, including preparing audit support and responding to auditor queries at interim and year-end

  • Oversight of the Accounts Payable and employee reimbursements process, including payment processing and ensuring timely and accurate invoice bookings

  • Owning the payment run cycle and other day-to-day finance operations tasks including cash and liquidity monitoring and payroll processing, working closely with our payroll service provider. Participate in finance operations improvement projects on an ad-hoc basis

  • Manage tax compliance, including VAT filings and regulatory reporting

  • Act as a trusted reviewer for key accounting areas, helping ensure work is complete, accurate and appropriately documented before close or audit review

  • Take ownership of assigned accounting areas, entities or processes, applying sound judgement to both recurring and non-recurring transactions

  • Identify risks, gaps or inefficiencies in finance processes and work with the team to resolve them

  • Help strengthen financial controls, improve process documentation and build more scalable ways of working

  • Work with Finance, FP&A, Product, Engineering and Operations where financial processes intersect with systems, data or platform flows

  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual work and improve accuracy through automation, tooling, AI and better process design

  • Support colleagues within the Finance team by sharing knowledge, reviewing work where relevant, and contributing to a culture of ownership and continuous improvement

About You

We are looking for someone who combines strong accounting fundamentals with curiosity, ownership and a desire to improve how finance works.

You may be a good fit if you have:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Business, Accounting or a related field (CPA/RA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent qualification is desirable)

  • 5+ years relevant experience in an accounting role with hands on month-end close and financial reporting experience. Proficiency with Exact Online or comparable accounting software is a plus

  • A strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to apply judgement in practical situations

  • Experience working with auditors or preparing audit support

  • A process improvement mindset, with examples of improving ways of working rather than simply maintaining them

  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, international or scaling environment

  • Strong attention to detail, combined with the ability to see the bigger picture

  • Some finance operations experience, including experience handling the payment processing cycle

  • Strong VAT and tax regulation knowledge

  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work well with both finance and non-finance colleagues

  • Experience coaching junior team members is a plus

  • A proactive, structured and solutions-oriented way of working

  • Interest in automation, systems, AI and the future of finance

Experience in a marketplace, platform, payments, SaaS, e-commerce or high-volume transaction environment would be a plus, but is not required.

What We’re Looking For

This role would suit someone who has built a strong accounting foundation and has hands on month-end close and operational accounting experience in a scale-up environment..

We are less focused on finding someone who has done every exact task before, and more focused on finding someone who is sharp, reliable, curious and motivated to help build a better finance function.

Why Join TicketSwap
  • Be part of an international platform with a clear mission and strong brand

  • Join a Finance team with real opportunity to shape processes, controls and systems

  • Work in a business with high transaction volumes, multiple markets and interesting accounting challenges

  • Help build a modern finance function that uses automation, AI and better tooling to scale

  • Work closely with experienced finance leaders and cross-functional teams

  • Take on meaningful ownership in a growing company

At TicketSwap, Finance is not just about closing the books. It is about building the foundation that helps the business grow safely, efficiently and sustainably.

Practical Details
  • Full-time role based in Amsterdam (hybrid setup)
  • You need to be based in the Netherlands or have a valid work permit (no relocation support provided)
  • Relocation support is not provided for this role
  • The expected salary range for this role is €68k-€75k
Excited and ready to join our team?

Research shows that women and those in traditionally underrepresented groups tend to apply only if they check all the boxes. That’s a shame, as we want to build a diverse and inclusive team. If you know you’ve got what it takes but don’t quite meet every requirement for the role, we still encourage you to apply.

At TicketSwap, we welcome talent from all backgrounds, no matter your nationality, gender identity, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs.
