auxmoney, a fast-growing FinTech in consumer credit, seeks a Financial Accountant & Controller to join a tight Finance team in the Netherlands. Based in Amsterdam in a hybrid setup, you will report to the Finance Manager and supervise a Junior Finance colleague while collaborating across the auxmoney Group.

You will own the financial administration, drive month and year-end closings, automate finance processes, build dashboards, and deliver analyses and forecasts to support management decisions

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, controlling, or similar role with comparable scope.
• Builder mindset with initiative and ability to improve processes.
• Experience in or affinity for financial sector or credit lending in a regulated environment.
• Regulatory curiosity: knowledge of Wft, AFM and DNB or willingness to learn quickly.
• Strong Excel skills and quick adoption of new finance tools.
• Fluent in English; Dutch conversational is a plus.

Your new team:

Want to own both the numbers and the narrative behind them? As our Financial Accountant & Controller, you will join a small, close knit Finance team in a fast-growing FinTech scale up in the consumer credit space. This role is based in the Netherlands and sits with Lender & Spender, our Dutch subsidiary. You will report to the Finance Manager, work hands on across Accounting and Controlling, and help supervise and develop a Junior Finance colleague. Beyond your local team, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the auxmoney Group as we scale our finance setup together.

What you can expect:

• Own the financial administration: You ensure a complete and accurate financial administration, including bookkeeping and verification, so the business can rely on clean numbers at all times.
• Drive month end and year end: You prepare monthly closings and contribute to the annual financial statements with a high bar for quality and consistency.
• Strengthen the team: You guide and coach a Junior Finance professional and help raise the overall quality and speed of execution in the team.
• Professionalize finance processes: You automate, optimize, and standardize finance workflows to support scale up growth and reduce manual effort.
• Deliver analysis and forecasting: You perform sharp financial analyses and prepare reliable forecasts that help management make better decisions.
• Build management dashboards: You build and maintain clear dashboards that translate financial data into actionable guidance for leadership.
• Support regulatory reporting: You are co responsible for periodic reporting to regulators such as AFM, DNB, and ESMA, and you help keep requirements understood and implemented.
• Work setup: You will work in a hybrid setup with our Amsterdam office and flexible work from home options.

Your profile

• Relevant experience: You bring 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, controlling, or a similar role at a comparable scope and complexity.
• Scale up mindset: You bring builder energy, take initiative, and enjoy improving things instead of waiting for perfect conditions.
• Sector affinity: You have experience in or a strong affinity for the financial sector or credit lending, and you are comfortable in a regulated environment.
• Regulatory curiosity: Ideally you have experience with Wft, AFM, and DNB requirements, or you are highly motivated to learn this quickly.
• Systems strength: You are strong in Excel, and you pick up new finance tools and software quickly.
• Ways of working: You are accurate, structured, and analytically strong, and you communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Languages: You are fluent in English and ideally comfortable holding conversations in Dutch.
