Job summary

Hivos is an international human rights and social justice organization based in The Hague. The Senior Finance and Accounting Officer is part of the Finance and Operations Team, reporting to the Finance Team Lead and acting as deputy during absences.

The role supports financial administration, consolidation, and timely reporting. Based in The Hague, the 36-hour-per-week position offers a local contract, a laptop, travel reimbursements, and pension contributions with flexible working arrangements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in finance, including project financial management in senior finance roles.
• Experience with Dutch GAAP and RJ650 is an advantage.
• Experience reviewing and processing payments, general ledger accounting, and month-end closing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee payment processes in the Global Finance Unit with 4-eyes controls.
• Provide accounting support to finance staff on processes and administration.
• Prepare and review periodic financial reports with Team Lead and budget holders.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end closings and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.
