Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a high-end structural engineer specialized in FEM to analyse, model and assess complex structural challenges for infrastructure and buildings. You will work in multidisciplinary teams, delivering technically robust FEM analyses and translating results into clear recommendations for design decisions and risk assessments.

A strong background in structural mechanics and numerical analysis, with hands-on experience in FEM software, is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• MSc or BSc in Civil Engineering or comparable discipline.
• Experience with advanced structural analyses and finite element modelling.
• Strong foundation in structural mechanics, material behaviour, stability, dynamics and numerical analysis.
• Hands-on experience with specialised FEM software and advanced analysis tools.
• Ability to translate complex analyses into clear, well-substantiated reports and recommendations.
• Experience on infrastructure projects such as bridges or tunnels is a strong advantage.
• Experience where advanced analyses support design decisions, recalculations and structural assessments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up, execute and review advanced FEM analyses for complex structural challenges
• Define modelling approach and boundary conditions with well-considered choices
• Ensure models are technically sound and reproducible
• Analyse outcomes and translate into clear recommendations and risk assessments
• Contribute to design and verification, including recalculations and structural assessments
• Collaborate with other disciplines and project teams
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to explain analyses and outcomes
• Support and coach junior colleagues and contribute to knowledge building
