Job summary

Arcadis in the Netherlands seeks a Senior Structural Engineer FEM to lead advanced finite element analyses for complex infrastructure and building structures, including bridges and tunnels. You will set up modelling approaches, interpret results for design decisions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while coaching junior staff.

Qualifications

MSc or BSc degree in Civil Engineering or comparable discipline.
Demonstrated experience with advanced structural analyses and finite element modelling.
Strong theoretical foundation in structural mechanics, material behaviour, stability, dynamics and numerical analysis.
Experience within infrastructure projects such as bridges, tunnels or similar structures is considered a strong advantage.
Ability to translate complex technical analyses into clear, well-substantiated reports and actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

Independently set up, execute and review advanced FEM analyses for complex structural challenges.
Define the modelling approach, make decisions on assumptions and boundary conditions, ensure models are sound and reproducible.
Analyse outcomes and translate them into clear recommendations, risk assessments and decisions within projects.
Collaborate with other disciplines and align with project teams; engage with clients and stakeholders.
Coach junior and mid-level colleagues and contribute to knowledge building and innovation.
