Job summary

Smappee is seeking an experienced Technical Service Engineer to back the growth of its EV charging business in the Netherlands. You will serve as the technical reference for installers, service partners, and strategic customers, ensuring reliable commissioning and ongoing operational excellence of our charging solutions.

The role requires hands-on expertise with DC/AC charging infrastructure, a strong electrical engineering background, and the ability to troubleshoot hardware and software

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience with DC and AC charging infrastructure.
• Strong technical background in electrical engineering, EV charging, energy systems, industrial automation, or power electronics.
• Experience with commissioning, field service, or technical operations within EV charging or energy infrastructure.
• Able to troubleshoot both hardware and software related issues independently.
• Knowledge of Dutch installation standards/regulations (NEN1010) is a strong plus.
• Clear communication with installers, technical partners, and enterprise customers; structured and autonomous work.
• Fluent in Dutch with solid working knowledge of English.
• Willingness to travel regularly within the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

• Act as the sole technical expert for DC and AC charging infrastructure projects in the Netherlands.
• Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical interventions for complex charging installations.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to charging hardware, connectivity, backend communication, and energy systems.
• Coordinate technical escalations with HQ Engineering and Product teams.
• Support installers and service partners during complex technical cases and interventions.
• Drive root-cause analysis and contribute to improvements in service quality and processes.
• Support warranty handling, spare parts coordination, technical training, and knowledge sharing.
• Deliver technical training to partners and installers.
