Job summary

Smappee is seeking an experienced Lead Technical Service Engineer to enhance our EV charging business in the Netherlands. You will be the technical reference for installers and partners, ensuring reliable commissioning and troubleshooting of DC fast charging solutions.

The ideal candidate has over 3 years of hands-on experience with charging infrastructure and a strong technical background in electrical engineering. Fluency in Dutch and English is essential, along with a willingness to travel within the Netherlands.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with DC and AC charging infrastructure.
• Experience with technical operations within EV charging.
• Knowledge of Dutch installation standards (NEN1010) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as the sole technical expert for DC and AC charging infrastructure projects.
• Support commissioning and troubleshooting of charging installations.
• Coordinate with HQ Engineering for technical escalations.
• Drive improvements in service quality and operational processes.

Position

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Lead Technical Service Engineer to support the growth of Smappee’s EV charging business in the Netherlands, with a strong focus on DC fast charging infrastructure. In this role, you act as the technical reference point for installers, service partners, and strategic customers, ensuring reliable commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational excellence of our charging solutions.

Responsibilities

• Act as the sole technical expert for DC and AC charging infrastructure projects in the Netherlands.
• Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical interventions for complex charging installations.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to charging hardware (AC and DC), connectivity, backend communication, and energy systems.
• Coordinate technical escalations with HQ Engineering and Product teams.
• Support installers and service partners during complex technical cases and interventions.
• Drive root-cause analysis and contribute to structural improvements in service quality and operational processes.
• Support warranty handling, spare parts coordination, technical training, and knowledge sharing.
• Delivertechnicaltrainingtopartnersandinstallers.

Qualifications

• You have at least 3 years of hands‑on experience with DC and AC charging infrastructure.
• You have a strong technical background in electrical engineering, EV charging, energy systems, industrial automation, or power electronics.
• You have experience with commissioning, field service, or technical operations within EV charging or energy infrastructure.
• You are comfortable troubleshooting both hardware and software related issues independently.
• Knowledge of Dutch installation standards and regulations, including NEN1010, is a strong plus.
• You are capable to communicate clearly with installers, technical partners, and enterprise customers and work in a structured and autonomous way.
• You are fluent in Dutch with a solid working knowledge of English.
• You are willing to travel regularly within the Netherlands.
