Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Cost Estimator in the Energy and Natural Resources division. You will develop cost estimates for Oil & Gas, Mining, Chemicals and Clean Energies projects across CAPEX and OPEX life cycles.

Responsibilities include applying first principles estimating, preparing capital cost estimates, and supporting tender activities while maintaining client relationships and managing budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in cost estimation, preferably within the Energy and Natural Resources sector.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., OnScreen Takeoff, Bluebeam).
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Apply first principles estimating in the Energy and Resources sector.
• Prepare capital cost estimates to meet industry standard estimate classification guidelines.
• Apply and efficiently utilise approved work breakdown and cost breakdown structures.
• Support key tendering activities, including preparation of pre-tender estimates.
• Analyse project change and the provision of feedback on areas of risk and opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with cost, risk, and planning teams.
• Analyse and assess costs and estimates provided by suppliers and contractors.
• Provide estimating support to manage project budget and scope (Value Engineering).
