A leading consulting firm in Amsterdam is seeking a Senior Cost Estimator to support the tendering process by transforming data into cost estimates. The ideal candidate is ambitious and has over 5 years of experience in the offshore or oil & gas industry. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of CAPEX cost estimates for diverse projects.
• Play a strategic role in tender boards and proposal strategy meetings.
• Continuously improve estimation tools and update the knowledge base.
• Develop proposal schedules and cost risk analyses; drive cost optimization initiatives.
• Integrate OPEX estimates to ensure full lifecycle cost coverage in bids.
• Advise on cost insights during tender boards and proposal strategy meetings.

Job description

The Tender Department, including its Cost Estimating Section plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the business of our client. They craft winning proposals across all areas of our operations, aligning with client needs and driving our company’s strategic goals forward. Our client is looking for a professional with the ambition to grow towards a manager position within the department

Function

• As a Senior Cost Estimator, you’ll be at the heart of our tendering process, transforming data into actionable insights and building cost estimates that help us win projects.
• Lead the development of CAPEX cost estimates for diverse projects in a Team effort, using data from our knowledge base, quotes from suppliers and cross-functional input.
• Create estimating plans and basis of estimate documents that set the foundation for successful proposals.
• Collaborate with Contracts & Procurement to obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor pricing.
• Develop proposal schedules, contribute to cost risk analyses, and drive cost optimization initiatives.
• Integrate OPEX estimates from the Operations Support Group to ensure full lifecycle cost coverage.
• Play a strategic role in tender boards and proposal strategy meetings, advising on cost insights and estimate accuracy.
• Continuously improve our estimation tools, identify cost correlations, and update our knowledge base with real-world feedback.
• Innovate our working methods through parametric analysis, benchmarking, and process improvements.

Requirements

We are looking for a communicatively strong Estimator with attention to detail, who can take the lead to project winning estimates. Furthermore, you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Business Administration or other relevant education.
• A strong technical background being developed in the oil and gas and/or shipping industry.
• Over 5 years of relevant cost estimating experience in the offshore/oil & gas industry.
• Solid communication skills in English, verbally as well as in writing.
• Knowledge of Cleopatra Enterprise and other cost estimating software.
• Computer literacy for document processing, spreadsheets and database management.
