Job summary

Vention Technologies is seeking a Software Test Engineer to ensure high quality in embedded software. You’ll design and implement testable low‑level C code, set up and maintain test frameworks for embedded systems, and write unit, integration and regression tests for nRF microcontrollers running Zephyr RTOS.

You will test on target hardware using hardware‑in‑the‑loop setups, analyze test results, and contribute to software architecture decisions with testability in mind.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar (BSc/MSc).
• Minimum of 4+ years of experience in embedded systems programming (C).
• Proficiency in software architecture and microcontroller platforms (e.g. nRF, STM32, LPC).
• Hands-on mentality with hardware and debugging tools like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Curiosity, pragmatism, and a collaborative mindset.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing testable low-level embedded software in C.
• Setting up and maintaining test frameworks for embedded systems.
• Writing unit tests, integration tests, and regression tests.
• Automating tests (for example, in GitLab CI/CD pipelines).
• Testing on target hardware and with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) setups.
• Analyzing test results and structurally improving software quality.
• Contributing to software architecture decisions with testability in mind.
• Collaborate closely with hardware, software, and design engineers to bring products to life.
• Take Ownership of deliverables and work autonomously within a collaborative, transparent environment.
