Job summary

S&T in Delft is seeking a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to lead the development of our first-generation onboard computing platform. You will own the embedded software lifecycle, from concept to validation, working with Architects, FPGA, Electronics, and Space Systems engineers to deliver high-performance, reliable products for demanding environments.

Qualifications

• Education: BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience: 10+ years in Embedded Systems engineering.
• Experience: Space applications or safety-critical environments.
• Knowledge: GPU/AI acceleration (NVIDIA Jetson, CUDA, VITIS-AI).
• Experience: Linux kernel development, device drivers, embedded Linux optimization.
• Programming: Proficient in C, C++, Python.
• Knowledge: CI/CD pipelines with CMake, GCC, Git in embedded Linux.

Responsibilities

• Lead embedded systems engineering by establishing processes and mentoring engineers; perform design reviews for quality and compliance.
• Translate system requirements into robust embedded software and hardware designs.
• Develop and maintain Linux-based OS for onboard edge computing with Yocto/Buildroot.
• Develop reliable software for failure detection, recovery, and mission continuity.
• Develop and integrate satellite communication protocols and interfaces.
• Develop and optimize drivers for ML/algorithm accelerators for AI workloads on embedded platforms.
