Job summary

S&T in Delft seeks a Senior Electronics Design Engineer to lead the PCB design team and drive the complete hardware development lifecycle from concept to production. You will translate system requirements into robust hardware designs, perform SI/PI/thermal analyses, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver high-performance onboard processing platforms for space missions.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years electronics design experience, with high-speed digital design.
• Expert CAD skills: Altium, Cadence Allegro, Siemens Xpedition.
• Experience with high-speed interfaces: DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, SpaceFibre.
• Familiar with FPGA-based hardware, high-speed processors, embedded platforms.
• Ability to analyze and debug high-speed hardware with lab equipment.
• Security clearance eligibility for Dutch/NATO/EU.
• Fluent English; Dutch is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the PCB design team, establish efficient processes, mentor staff, perform design reviews.
• Translate system requirements into robust hardware designs meeting performance and reliability.
• Conduct SI analysis and validation to optimize high-speed interfaces and mitigate issues.
• Perform PI analysis and measurements for stable power distribution and reliability.
• Conduct thermal analysis and collaborate with Mechanical team on cooling.
• Support environmental qualification and testing (vibration, TVAC, radiation, EMC/EMI).
• Coordinate with procurement and suppliers for long-term component availability.
• Collaborate with external PCB manufacturers for DFM/DFA compliance.
• Define component selection strategies considering radiation tolerance and obsolescence.
