Senior EHS Manager - Data Centre Construction (Netherlands)

Job summary

Uneek Global is seeking an experienced EHS Manager for a major Data Centre project in the Netherlands. The role is site-based with responsibility for leading all EHS activities from mobilisation through to completion.

You will drive a proactive safety culture, provide mentorship to EHS Advisors, and engage with project management, workforce, clients, and supply chain partners to uphold the highest EHS standards throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven experience as an EHS Manager on major construction or Data Centre projects.
• NEBOSH Diploma or Level 6 qualification.
• CertIOSH minimum, with CMIOSH desirable.
• Strong background in groundworks, drainage, reinforced concrete, and heavy civils.
• Excellent knowledge of CDM Regulations, HASAWA, LOLER, PUWER, and temporary works.
• Experience working with principal contractors and major clients on fast-paced construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead all EHS activities across the project from mobilisation through to completion.
• Provide visible leadership and support to the project management team, supervisors, and workforce.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, CDM 2015, and company management systems.
• Develop, review, and implement project-specific HSEQ documentation, including Construction Phase Plans, RAMS, and inspection regimes.
• Undertake regular site inspections, audits, and behavioural safety observations, ensuring actions are closed out effectively and on time.
• Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Monitor project performance through inspections, KPIs, and leading indicators, reporting trends to senior management.
• Support the planning and control of high-risk activities including lifting operations, temporary works, excavations, and confined spaces.
• Work closely with clients, principal contractors, and supply chain partners to maintain excellent HSEQ standards.
• Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings where required.
• Mentor and support project EHS Advisors.
• Drive a positive safety culture through proactive engagement, workforce involvement, and visible leadership.
