A superb opportunity for a Senior E3D Piping Designer to join a leading engineering environment, taking ownership of piping design and delivery across complex FEED and EPC projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and develop piping layouts, 3D models, GA drawings, isometrics, material take-offs, and related design deliverables.
- Perform piping design and layout activities across all project phases, including concept, FEED, detailed engineering for onshore process plants and industrial facilities.
- Execute pipe routing and optimization considering accessibility, maintenance, operation, drainage, vents, drain points and future expansions within onshore plant environments.
- Attend and actively contribute to 3D model review sessions to identify clashes, interface conflicts, accessibility issues, and operability concerns.
- Present piping design solutions and modifications during model review meetings and follow up on comments and action items to ensure timely closure.
- Interpret engineering data, P&IDs, equipment layouts, and design criteria to produce constructible piping design solutions.
- Perform piping routing, plot plan development, and interface coordination with civil, mechanical, structural, process, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
- Prepare material take‑offs (MTOs) and support quantity estimation for piping materials, fittings, supports, and insulation.
- Check design consistency, safety, operability, maintainability, and compliance with project and industry requirements.
- Review vendor documents and incorporate technical comments into the design.
- Coordinate with designers and engineers regarding technical queries, and design issues.
- Ensure deliverables are completed on time, within budget in line with project execution plans.
- Provide guidance and technical support to junior designers and drafters where applicable.
- Apply engineering standards, and quality requirements throughout all design activities.

- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software.
- Strong team player skills to effectively work within multi-location and multicultural teams.
Qualifications
- University degree or a technician qualification in design in mechanical engineering or a related/similar discipline.
- Minimum 12 years of relevant piping design experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Fertilizer, or similar sectors, both offshore and onshore, covering all project phases from basic design to detailed design, with particular experience in onshore plant design.
- Knowledge of piping layout principles, maintenance, fabrication and construction practices, and drawing standards.
- Good understanding of industry codes and standards such as ASME, ANSI, API, and project-specific requirements.
- The legal requirements to work and reside in the EU and Netherlands is desirable although relocation support can be provided.
