Job summary

Talcom is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to own cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and reliability for a growing cybersecurity technology company. This hands-on role centers on AWS, Kubernetes, IaC, and cloud-native operations.

You’ll collaborate with software and data teams to design scalable architectures, implement GitOps, and ensure security and performance. Hybrid work in Amsterdam with a focus on prod-grade reliability.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes at enterprise scale.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling (Terraform or similar).
• Experience operating production infrastructure and deployments.
• Ability to own cloud environments, CI/CD and reliability engineering.

Responsibilities

Talcom is recruiting a Senior DevOps Engineer for a growing technology company operating in the cybersecurity space.

We are looking for an experienced DevOps or Platform Engineer who has worked with complex, enterprise-scale infrastructure and is comfortable taking ownership of cloud environments, deployment processes, reliability and automation.

This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on AWS, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD and cloud-native operations.

The Role

You will work closely with software engineering and data teams to build, maintain and improve scalable infrastructure and deployment environments.

Key responsibilities include:

• Design, maintain and improve AWS-based infrastructure
  
• Build and optimise CI/CD and GitOps workflows
  
• Manage Kubernetes environments and application deployments
  
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code
  
• Improve system reliability, scalability and availability
  
• Implement monitoring, logging and observability solutions
  
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and perform root cause analysis
  
• Support deployments across internal and customer environments
  
• Maintain infrastructure security and cloud IAM standards
  
• Support compute infrastructure used by engineering and AI/ML workloads
  
• Identify infrastructure maintenance requirements proactively
  
• Participate in an on-call rotation for critical incidents
  

Technical Requirements

We are looking for strong hands-on experience with:

• AWS, particularly EC2, EKS, S3, IAM and VPC
  
• Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code tooling
  
• GitLab CI and/or Argo CD
  
• GitOps practices
  
• Grafana, Prometheus and/or AWS CloudWatch
  
• Elasticsearch and/or OpenSearch
  
• Cloud networking and security
  
• Linux-based infrastructure
  

Experience with the following is highly valuable:

• Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures
  
• Java, Python or Go
  
• AWS cost optimisation / FinOps
  
• AI/ML compute infrastructure
  

What We Are Looking For

You should be comfortable independently troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues and designing solutions that can be maintained and used by multiple engineering teams.

Previous experience operating production infrastructure at enterprise scale is particularly important.

You should also be comfortable communicating technical decisions, documenting infrastructure clearly and working across engineering teams.

Location

The role is based in Amsterdam and follows a hybrid working model, with approximately 2-3 days per week in the office.

Package

• €80,000 - €110,000 gross annual salary
  
• 8% holiday allowance included in the annual salary
  
• Initial 12-month employment contract with the intention to extend and potentially move to a permanent contract
