Job summary

Arup Amsterdam is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead the technical delivery of data center and mission-critical projects. You will guide multidisciplinary teams from early concept through detailed design and construction support, owning the design strategy and interface with clients and stakeholders.

The role requires extensive senior leadership across project phases, strong English, and familiarity with the Dutch market.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience leading multidisciplinary design across all project phases.
• Experience delivering complex data center projects from concept to delivery.
• Knowledge of the Dutch construction market, regulations, procurement routes, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Own and advance the design strategy across disciplines from concept to delivery.
• Coordinate architects, engineers and specialists as a single integrated design team.
• Oversee design quality, constructability, risk, sustainability and long-term asset performance.
• Lead design reviews and stage-gate processes to ensure high-quality, compliant deliverables at milestones.
• Support client engagement, business development, mentoring, and improving design management tools and processes.
