Cyient in Amsterdam, Netherlands is seeking a hands-on Senior Delphi Developer to join an embedded engineering team. You will work directly within the customer's Azure DevOps backlog, sprint ceremonies, and release process on a mature Delphi/VCL desktop application.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, and unit test new features and enhancements to the Customer Delphi application (VCL/DevExpress‑based desktop application).
• Debug and resolve production issues and customer‑reported bugs; perform root‑cause analysis and document findings.
• Write and optimize MS SQL Server stored procedures, functions, and queries.
• Refactor existing code for maintainability and performance; participate in peer code reviews.
• Build and maintain automated unit tests; sustain 90%+ automated test coverage.
• Automate recurring engineering tasks via scripting and tooling with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, PI planning, and sprint retrospectives.
• Collaborate with Product Owner/Manager and QA to translate requirements into designs.
• Produce design notes, algorithms, test evidence, and review checklists.
• Support ad hoc initiatives—recreating scenarios and DevOps tasks.

About the Role

Customer’s platform is a total engine management solution that gives lessors and operators visibility into engine health, risk exposure, and lifecycle financials. We are hiring a hands‑on Senior Delphi Developer to join the engineering team as an embedded team member, working directly within customer’s Azure DevOps backlog, sprint ceremonies, and release process. This is an application maintenance and enhancement role on a mature, mission‑critical Delphi/VCL codebase - not a greenfield build - so strong debugging, root‑cause‑analysis, and legacy‑code comprehension skills matter as much as new feature development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, code, and unit test new features and enhancements to the Customer Delphi application (VCL/DevExpress‑based desktop application).
• Debug and resolve production issues and customer‑reported bugs; perform root‑cause analysis and document findings.
• Write and optimize MS SQL Server stored procedures, functions, and queries supporting EFPAC's data layer.
• Refactor existing code for maintainability and performance; participate in peer code reviews.
• Build and maintain automated unit tests; help sustain the program's 90%+ automated test coverage target.
• Automate recurring engineering tasks via scripting and tooling integrated with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, PI planning, and sprint retrospectives as an active Scrum team member.
• Collaborate with Boeing's Product Owner, Product Manager, and QA team to translate requirements and defects into technical designs.
• Produce supporting documentation: software design notes, algorithms, test evidence, and review checklists.
• Support ad hoc initiatives on request - recreating customer scenarios, feasibility studies, and DevOps‑related tasks.

Must-Have Skills

• 5+ years professional Delphi development (Delphi 11 or later strongly preferred; Delphi 10.x acceptable).
• Solid grasp of Delphi/VCL fundamentals: packages, DLLs, and the Parallel Programming Library.
• Hands‑on experience with DevExpress VCL components (grids, ribbons, docking, reporting) for building/maintaining Delphi UIs.
• Database connectivity frameworks: ADO and FireDAC.
• Strong MS SQL Server skills: writing and optimizing stored procedures, functions, and queries.
• Working knowledge of Azure DevOps - backlog/work item management, Git‑based source control, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical experience with Agile/Scrum delivery; SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) exposure is a plus.
• Comfortable owning tasks end‑to‑end: design, code, unit test, and defend the fix in review with a demanding enterprise client.
• Professional English proficiency - direct daily interaction with customer stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have

• Prior experience in aviation, engineering asset management, or other regulated/mission‑critical industrial software.
• Exposure to legacy application modernization or migration‑to‑cloud initiatives.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure beyond DevOps (hosting, data services) given customer’s cloud migration roadmap.
• Prior experience working as an embedded vendor resource inside a large enterprise client's Agile team.
