Job summary

i3D.net in Rotterdam is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to own the availability, scalability, and performance of MariaDB/MySQL platforms across our global infrastructure. You will design, build, and operate highly available database platforms and work across Linux, Kubernetes, IaC, and platform automation.

You’ll automate provisioning, backups, and failover, implement monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana, and integrate changes into CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing production database platforms.
• Experience with MariaDB, MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Strong uptime, performance, and data integrity focus.
• Proficient in Linux and Kubernetes in on-premise or hybrid environments.
• Automation with Ansible and Terraform.
• CI/CD integration with GitHub Actions is a plus.
• Monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana.
• Collaborative in platform or SRE teams; documentation and tooling.
• Hybrid role onsite at Rotterdam office; relocation support available.

Responsibilities

• Design and build database platforms that are scalable and available.
• Operate and optimize multi-environment database clusters.
• Automate database provisioning, configuration, upgrades using IaC.
• Manage Linux systems running database workloads.
