Job summary

Dyflexis is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to keep our database infrastructure fast, stable, and scalable across clusters. You’ll optimize queries, manage migrations, and ensure data reliability while collaborating with Platform and development teams from the start.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of DBA/DBE experience, deep MySQL expertise, and familiarity with another DBMS. On-site in The Hague, Netherlands; a competitive package awaits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a database administrator or database engineer.
• Experience in fintech, HR tech, SaaS, or ticketing and ordering platforms is a plus.
• Deep expertise in MySQL, with solid experience in at least one other DBMS (Postgres, Oracle, MSSQL).
• Familiarity with PHP enough to read and review queries.

Responsibilities

• Own production database performance: review and optimize queries, indexing, and execution plans using MySQL and ProxySQL.
• Run migrations across our database clusters, including working with Atlas.
• Improve and evolve our database infrastructure, including scaling strategies like sharding and partitioning.
• Write and maintain standards for database work across teams, from data modelling to migrations.
• Handle regular database maintenance, monitoring, mutations, and schema changes.
• Review merge requests and PHP code for database impact and participate in project kick-offs.
