Job summary

Roamler BV is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our AI/ML platform team in Amsterdam. You will own and evolve the ML/AI behind our outlet-data product suite, data platform for the OOH Location Database, Salesmapp, and related products used by food & beverage brands across Europe.

This role covers classic ML/NLP enrichment and modern LLM/AI pipelines in production. Collaborate with data engineers to scale from proof of concept to production, write production-quality code, and continuously

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in a quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist.
• Hands-on experience bringing LLMs into production: prompt design, evaluation, and cost/latency tradeoffs.
• Solid experience with embeddings and NLP: semantic similarity, entity matching, or text classification.
• Experience with Python (scikit-learn, numpy, pandas).
• Experience with Spark, preferably PySpark.
• Knowledge of and experience with ML algorithms: clustering, classification, regression.
• Experience with AWS or Azure cloud services, including model hosting.
• English communication skills, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Add value by finding data solutions for business problems.
• Own and evolve ML/NLP enrichment pipelines and services powering data apps.
• Design, build and run LLM-based components in production with prompt design as system design.
• Choose the right tool for the problem: state-of-the-art model, LLM, classical algorithm, or business rule.
• Define evaluation methods and quality metrics for LLM/ML output to be trusted.
• Work with data engineers to move POCs into production.
• Write production‑quality code.
• Identify new opportunities in the data lake.
• Collaborate with business and data stakeholders to align requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement in the data science setup.
• Foster a collaborative team environment through code reviews.
