Job summary

Mogelijk is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to combine hands-on data work with shaping how data and AI are used across the organisation. You will develop ML models, perform analyses, and translate insights into practical business recommendations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in Data Science or a closely related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and SQL.
• Experience developing and implementing machine learning models using frameworks such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Strong knowledge of statistics, experimentation, hypothesis testing and feature engineering.
• Experience bringing ML solutions into production and an understanding of MLOps.
• Experience with Power BI or comparable BI tooling.
• Experience with modern cloud and data environments such as Snowflake, GCP or AWS.
• The ability to translate complex data into clear insights and recommendations for different stakeholders.
• A proactive, analytical and pragmatic mindset: you actively look for opportunities where data can create value.

Responsibilities

Mogelijk provides business mortgages to entrepreneurs and real estate investors while giving investors the opportunity to finance these mortgages with their capital.

As Mogelijk grows, so does the role of data in how we make decisions, improve our products and serve our customers. That's why we're looking for a Senior Data Scientist who combines strong hands‑on technical expertise with the ability to help shape how we use data and AI across the organisation.

What you'll do

As Senior Data Scientist, you'll work on complex challenges using customer, transaction and property data. You'll develop machine learning models, perform statistical analyses and experiments, and turn data into insights that improve our products and help Mogelijk make better decisions.

You'll take problems from exploration to implementation: understanding the business challenge, analysing data, engineering features, developing and validating models, and ensuring solutions perform in practice. You'll also contribute to our MLOps practices, including deployment, monitoring and retraining.

Not every problem requires a machine learning model. You'll use statistics, experimentation and analysis to determine what is happening, why it is happening and what we should do about it.

A key part of your role is connecting data and business. You'll work closely with teams across Mogelijk, proactively identify opportunities and translate complex analyses into clear recommendations for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

You'll also help shape how Mogelijk uses data and AI in the future, contributing to our technical practices, data foundation and overall data strategy.

Who you are

You're an experienced Data Scientist who still enjoys being hands‑on with data and code. You're analytically strong, technically experienced and comfortable taking ownership of complex problems from start to finish.

You don't just build models because you can. You want to understand the problem, challenge assumptions and make sure your work creates measurable value.

You bring:

• 5+ years of relevant experience in Data Science or a closely related field.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Python and SQL.
• Experience developing and implementing machine learning models using frameworks such as scikit‑learn, XGBoost, PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Strong knowledge of statistics, experimentation, hypothesis testing and feature engineering.
• Experience bringing ML solutions into production and an understanding of MLOps.

We offer a salary between €6,000 and €7,000 gross per month, depending on your knowledge and experience, a pension scheme and travel reimbursement. You'll receive five weeks of annual leave, with the possibility to buy additional days.

Our office is conveniently located in Breukelen, directly next to the railway station and the A2 motorway.
