Job summary

Bitvavo is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to join the Storage and Messaging team within Platform Engineering. The role focuses on building a scalable, secure data platform and enabling self-service data products across teams.

You will work on evolving data models, streaming processing, and governance while mentoring peers and driving engineering excellence in a cloud-first environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with one or more programming languages (Golang/Python preferred).
• Strong understanding of platform engineering principles and distributed data systems.
• Experience with SQL and No-SQL databases.
• Experience with distributed messaging systems such as Kafka, including design and schema registry.

Responsibilities

• Build a self-service platform enabling teams to scale across database and messaging technologies.
• Continuously evolve the platform for new data models, stream processing, and governance.
• Build and maintain secure, scalable data infrastructure using IaC and automation.
• Enable data ingestion, processing, and consumption at scale; mentor teammates.
