Job summary

Allseas in Delft seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design, build and support data solutions using Azure, Databricks and Delta Lake. You will integrate diverse data sources, translate business needs into reliable data products and support analytics and AI initiatives.

You will own solutions end-to-end, mentor teammates, and strengthen data platforms and security, including Unity Catalog. The role emphasizes governance, quality checks and cost-aware engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering production data platforms.
• Strong Python, SQL and Spark skills.
• Azure and Databricks experience with Delta Lake.
• Understanding of data governance and data management.

Responsibilities

• Own part of the platform architecture and document design decisions.
• Build and maintain batch pipelines and data integrations in Azure and Databricks.
• Create data models and Delta Lake tables with clear definitions.
• Implement Unity Catalog security controls and access management.
• Ensure data quality checks, monitoring and controlled reloads.
• Optimize queries and pipelines for performance and cost.
• Mentor colleagues and raise engineering standards.
